Bowhunting Gear and Accessories
All right before we dive into the juicy details of Ultraview's UV Button release, let's talk a bit about bowhunting gear and accessories. Ensuring that you have the right gear is essential to one's success in the field. From your bow, to your arrows, broadheads, and other accessories, every piece of gear is going to play a critical role in your daily practice and the success of a hunt. But ultimately it's YOU that is the deciding factor. You can have all the best gear in the world. But without the proper training and understanding of how it works it's useless.
When it comes to choosing bowhunting or archery gear and accessories, there are a few things to keep in mind. First and foremost, you DO NOT have to have the top of the line gear. However, it is important to choose gear that is durable and reliable. Hunting can be a physically demanding activity, and your gear needs to be able to withstand the rigors of the hunt and the amount of time you spend practicing with it. Additionally, you want gear that is comfortable to use and fits your individual needs and preferences.
With that being said, let’s dive into one of my favorite pieces of archery gear, Ultraview’s UV Button!
Ultraview Archery's UV Button Release
Now that we've covered the basics of bowhunting gear, accessories, and equipment, let's take a closer look at Ultraview Archery's UV Button release. Something I highly admire about Ultraview is how much attention to detail they put into their products. Whether it’s their target archery sights like the UV3 series, bowhunting sights like the UV3XL, or their releases. They always hit the nail on the head when it comes to aesthetics, function, & durability. This is one of the most innovative releases I’ve had the pleasure of using. It's more than apparent they put a ton of time into market research, research, and development, and that the release is designed to help bowhunters improve their accuracy and precision through some very unique features unique to Ultraview.
Design and Feel
The UV Button release is a unique design that features a thumb-operated button release mechanism. This allows for a smoother and more consistent release of the arrow, which in turn leads to improved accuracy and precision. The aesthetics and ergonomics fit great in hand, coming in a standard 3-finger configuration. With options for a 2 and 4-finger attachment as well.
The first thing you’ll notice with the UV Button release is its ease of use. The thumb-operated button release mechanism is intuitive and easy to operate, even for beginners. Additionally, the release is extremely adjustable, so you can customize it to fit your individual needs and preferences. This makes it an ideal accessory for bow hunters or target archers of all skill levels.
You can adjust the articulating thumb barrel to just about any length and varying angle you prefer. On top of the thumb barrel adjustments, you have two set screws which one can micro adjust how sensitive the trigger and travel can be. A simple twist clockwise or counterclockwise can get you to your preferred setting.
The UV Button also offers two different material options; stainless steel and aluminum. Each material has its own unique benefits and drawbacks, so it's important to consider both options when choosing which release to purchase.
Stainless steel is a popular material for bowhunting gear and accessories because it is extremely durable and resistant to corrosion. Stainless steel is also heavier (5.6 oz) than aluminum, which can help to improve stability and balance when shooting. The Ultraview Archery stainless steel UV Button release is built to last and can withstand the rigors of the hunt, making it a great choice for bowhunters who prioritize durability.
On the other hand, aluminum is a lighter-weight material (3.1 oz) that is also durable and corrosion-resistant. The Ultraview Archery aluminum UV Button release is lightweight and easy to handle, which can be beneficial for bowhunters who prefer a lighter release. Aluminum is also a more affordable material than stainless steel, making it a great choice for budget-conscious bowhunters.
When choosing between the stainless steel and aluminum UV Button release, it's important to consider your individual needs and preferences. If you value durability and stability, the stainless steel option may be the better choice for you. If you prioritize lightweight, the aluminum option may be a better fit. It's also important to consider the weight of each option, as well as the price point when making your decision.
Ultimately, both the stainless steel and aluminum UV Button releases are high-quality options that are designed to perform well on the hunt. The choice between the two comes down to individual preferences and priorities, and both materials offer their own unique benefits and drawbacks. Whether you choose stainless steel or aluminum, the Ultraview Archery UV Button release is a great choice for bowhunters looking to improve their accuracy and precision in the field.
Ultraglide System
One of my personal favorite features of the UV Button is the Ultraglide system. An all-new technology for button releases; ULTRAGLIDEâ„¢ is an advanced self-lubricating, internal bushing system that eliminates all unnecessary metal-on-metal contact. This results in an incredibly low-maintenance, smooth, reliable, and quiet release.
And right off the bat, you notice the significant reduction in vibration and sound. When you activate the trigger you have zero vibration in the housing of the release. Making it quieter & smoother because there is no metal-on-metal contact.
Unique to Ultraview
One of the great things about Ultraview Archery's UV Button release is that it is designed to work seamlessly with the Hinge 2 release, allowing bowhunters to switch between the two releases as needed.
The Hinge 2 release is a popular option amongst bowhunters and target archers because it offers a lot of control and customization. It features a hinge-style release mechanism that allows the shooter to control the release of the arrow with a high level of precision. This makes it an ideal option for more experienced archers who want maximum control over their shots. These can be very beneficial to use when you are dealing with target panic or have a tendency to punch your trigger. Manipulating the angle of the release and varying back tension gets the release to fire. So you are able to work attentively on sharpening up your shot process.
On the other hand, the UV Button release is a more beginner-friendly option that features a thumb-operated button release mechanism. This allows for a smoother and more consistent release of the arrow, making it an ideal option for newer bowhunters who are still developing their skills.
Having the option to switch seamlessly between these two releases is a major benefit for bowhunters. Seeing as they are both built on the same exact platform with identical dimensions, you can utilize both as you wish. Depending on the situation, you may want to switch between the Hinge 2 and the UV Button release to achieve different levels of control and precision.
Switching between the Hinge 2 and the UV Button release is easy and intuitive. Both releases are designed to feel the same, and essentially hook onto your D-loop the same. The only difference is the UV Button has a jaw that clasps shut. Allowing a bowhunter to keep it on their bow at the ready. Saving you precious time when in the red zone. So you can simply swap them out as needed. Additionally, the releases are identically adjustable, so you can customize them to fit your individual needs and preferences.
Overall, the ability to switch seamlessly between the Hinge 2 and the UV Button release is a major benefit for bowhunters and archers. It allows you to customize your shooting experience and achieve different levels of control and precision depending on the situation. If you're looking for a versatile and customizable bowhunting accessory, the Ultraview Archery releases are definitely worth considering.

In conclusion, Ultraview Archery’s UV Button release is a top-of-the-line piece of bowhunting equipment that offers a ton of key features and benefits. With its unique Ultraglide system, ergonomics, material options, and enhanced thumb-operated button release mechanism, the UV Button offers a smooth and consistent release of the arrow, improving accuracy and precision on the hunt.
